Aku lihat arwah abah tersenyum pada aku dan berkata, “Fali anak yang baik”.

Mimpi ini berlaku sebaik sahaja selepas arwah Pak Teh meninggal dunia. Mungkin peristiwa itu mengusik kenangan lama. Mungkin hanya rindu dalam minda dan hati aku sejak kecil.

Have been busy doing preparations on another big move of my life. Hopeful and doa for the better.

Have been thinking of moving my interest on devops. A combination of development and operations stuff specifically in ruby on rails stuff. Bridging the gap between software development team and infra. Would be a great investment for web specialty.

Lion OS X is out. A fellow friend upgraded his mac. I saw it, looks great. But they somehow changed the scrolling part. Should I upgrade? I like to wait a few months. A lot of my work needs migrating if I decide to upgrade. For sure it takes a bit of time to make sure everything is running .

Ramadhan is nearing to end. How is my iman? I must say I feel better spiritually than the last ramadhan. Alhamdulillah.

How is my losing weight effort? As of today since my last weight-in, my weight is 79.6kg. Feel better, feel stronger. Quite happy with myself nowadays. Getting used to people taking notice on my weight. At the office, they called me fadboy slim. Lol.

Had recently been taking an interest in a particular blog, Dr. Pagalavan’s blog http://pagalavan.com/. Reading the current affairs of healthcare and future of young doctors makes me weep and worried about the kind of doctors will soon treat me in the future. Did you know that Malaysia has about 30 medical schools for a population of 28 million? And do you know that’s the highest number of medical schools per population in the world? Truly Malaysia ‘apa pun’ Boleh. Read that in the near future, there will be a housemanship glut that new graduated MBBS scholar will have to fight to get a placement for housemenship training. I bet that our government ‘mesti’ cut corners and make quick ‘genius’ solutions. Just watch for it. I’m sure they’ll come up with something that seem to solve it but will make it worst in the long run. (read: allowing too much private medical school)

Started the program on 7th March 2011. I weight 99kg at that time

Today 12th May 2011, I weight in 87.7kg.

I now exercise regularly 2-3 times a week. Usually not more than 1 hour each session. 10 minutes cardio plus core muscle exercise.

Exercise sets are:

- cycling
- glute activation 20x
- flying dogs 30x
- kettleball swing 19.5kg 50x
- Yates row 31kg 15x
- shoulder leg press 21kg 25x

So that’s the basic set I do. Some other days I also like to add(depending on time and mood)
- pull over 10kg 15x
- calf rise 40x
- air squats 40x
- tricep wall extensions 20x

I have a barbell at home with max 31kg weights and also a custom made t-handle bar a.k.a the hungarian core blaster for the kettleball swing exercise.

I make a habit of taking notes on all exercise performed on how much weight I lifted and how many times so that I have a recorded metrics on my performance.

Diet consist of mainly eggs,beans, legumes(red/black/daal). With grilled or roasted chicken/fish/beef and veggies. Strictly no ‘white carbs’. No rice, no bread at all. But the best thing is I have one cheat day where I can binge eating whatever I want. I learn its important to increase calorie spike once a week in order to increase metabolism.

I don’t take any sugar at all. This include fructose from fruits. I drink lots of water everyday. Lots and lots of it.

So that’s it so far. My target weight according to BMI is from 56-71. So I’m targeting 65kg. Hope that’s not too far fetch. I don’t totally trust BMI as you can also gain muscle mass and lose fat so realistically you have to do an accurate body fat percentage measurement. But I have my concerns on doing any sort of exposing my body to radiation to measure the percentage.

So far I feel more better and happier living a healthier lifestyle and hope I don’t lose motivation and will continue until it becomes second nature to me.

This entry also functions as a motivational and pressure tool for me to keep up what I’m doing and to let all my family and friends know that I’m declaring to lose weight and be healthy.

On another note. This is my first post via my iPhone. I can’t say it can do anything I want but it’s sure a sexy phone. I’m really getting the hang of it. The apps are endless and so far have been playing plethora of games and the occasional productivity app.

My nearly two year old toddler can even play angry birds! He throws tantrums when I don’t let him play. So I’ll be banning it from him for a while. The educational apps are good for him. He loves alphabets with animals and cars. Interactivity and sound enhance the learning experience. Really considering whether I should buy the iPod touch for him.

What am I thinking? Damn you apple for making such a good product!

We’re now renting an apartment close to where Ayu’s working. The environment is peaceful where there’s a public garden with a  lake opposite our place. Lovely place to have a walk in mornings or late evenings. Sadly we don’t have the view of the garden from our home because our apartment window is located opposite of where the gardens located. The only view I can see from my window are other peoples apartments and condos. But we count on our blessings. We could see the sunset and the silhouetted skyscraper against the crimson sky. When I step out from my apartment, I could see KLCC at my left. Nothing is subtle living in contemporary urbanity. That tall high building representing a false achievement, a civilization that employs others engineering expertise and claims its own. Pardon my commentary.

And what about my dear son Amir? Well, he has never stop to amaze me each and every day. He started walking since 3 month ago and now he’s picking up words bit by bit. He is 16 month old now. It’s hard for Ayu and I now as we’re both working now. We both took care of Amir alone since he was a newborn in Melbourne. However, syukur alhamdulillah that my sister Sarah lives close by and she helps takes care of  him while we are working. We’re looking for a good nursery but we’re waiting Amir to be a bit older to be enrolled into one. People suggest to look for a maid but I still don’t trust anyone other than my family members. Since we both are working, I make it a point that I will be the one to make breakfast and bath Amir every morning no matter what before I send him to his Aunt Sarah. Quality time together is what counts. I just want to make sure that he doesn’t miss a thing at all. Fatherhood is such a bliss.

Apart from that, work commitments has been doubled since I moved back here. I need to get out of my shell and adapt efficiently to my surroundings and think out ways that we can instill value to others. To inspire, to learn, to lead and continuously improve to stay relevant in our business. Alhamdulillah, I found the right people to build a business together doing something that I love. Constantly keeping our head leveled. Curbing our sense of success and ego. Because we haven’t achieve anything yet. We’re just starting to get the ball rolling. Refining our work process and practice. Getting the right talent and people to join us. We’re close to 20 people with us now. When we hired them, to borrow my CEO’s words, we have committed ourselves to them – that as they will provide for us, so will we provide for them. I guess without realizing, we position ourselves as leaders. And as leaders, we have great responsibility to ensure that we grow as an entity that has strong values and character and gives back as much as we can for others. InsyaAllah.

With handwritten ads written on a pieces of tore boxes (as all papers were thrown out to the rubbish bin a day before), I’d duct tape it to all at “strategic places” that I could figure out just yesterday ;p. Put up an ad on Melbourne’s gumtree website & ask help from our good friend Aliya (as she was also doing a garage sale, a very much organized well advertised plus with easy accessible location) to allow us to join in and sell our old clothes & few of our stuff.

Today, thanks again for Aliya & friends for telling this one customer, Jose, about our garage sale. He came to our house in the morning & then again in the evening and bought a lot of our stuff. We sold to him our desks, drawer cupboard, stacked basket container, network router with cables, all of Ayu’s beauty products (Ayu put it all in a tudung saji), and a whole bunch of other stuff.

A few people came in but they didn’t bought much anything. Just looking around and asking for stuff we didn’t have. We’ll still be doing this tomorrow and hopefully a second Jose will come by again and buy all the remaining items for sale.
